I may not be always holding my camera or even so, I may not always feel like taking a photograph, but there is always something remarkable about being able to capture a moment as I saw it and will never be again. Enjoy life! Capture life!

People doing service

Halie's homework yesterday in Christian Living was -- Paste photographs of people doing service. I cut out from magazines and old newspapers pictures of persons doing service like persons working in a call center, employees in the restaurant industry, the Filipino CNN hero nominee with his "kariton" and the children reading his books, among other things. When I asked Halie to paste the cut-outs in her CL notebook, tinanong nya ako when she saw the pictures -- "Ma, sigurado ka na ito yon ididikit na pictures?" I said yes. She looked at me puzzled. I asked her why. This was her answer. (Yeah right. School service...)

Anti-Virus

HALIE: Ano gawa mo?
CHONG: Nagi-install ng anti-virus.
HALIE: Hah? May sakit sya? (sabay haplos sa computer)

Typhoon "Ondoy"

During the typhoon yesterday, while we were watching the flooded street from our window, Hanie had this question - "Ma, bakit ginawa ng Diyos ang bagyo?"

The Lighter Side:

Still during the storm.
HANIE: Ma, baka baha pa sa Monday.
AKO: Ok lang yon, pag baha pa malamang wala pa kayo pasok.
HANIE: Ma, meron yan.

HANIE: Ma, gusto ko rin mag-swimming parang sila (pointing to the children playing and swimming in the flooded street).

Katanungang Hindi Ko Alam Ang Kasagutan

HALIE: Ma, gusto ko mag-aral ng Spanish.
AKO: Saan ka naman mag-aaral? Wala school dito para sa mga bata. (Thinking that Instituto de Cervantes is not for the very young ones)
HALIE: Eh saan nag-aral si Dora?

HALIE: Ano sa Tagalog ang pangalan ko?
AKO: Wala.
HALIE: Bakit wala?
HALIE: Bakit ganon? Si Jesus and Mary meron. Si Jesus, Hesus; si Mary, Maria. Tapos, ako wala?

World Map

I bought a world map for some reason the other day. When I was looking at it, Hanie came to me and asked, "Wow! Earth ba yan?" The next thing she said was this.
