I may not be always holding my camera or even so, I may not always feel like taking a photograph, but there is always something remarkable about being able to capture a moment as I saw it and will never be again. Enjoy life! Capture life!

World Map

I bought a world map for some reason the other day. When I was looking at it, Hanie came to me and said, "Wow! Earth ba yan?" The next thing she said was this.

Crying Muse

The other night, while we were having dinner, Halie informed us that she has good news for us. The conversation went like this.

HALIE: Alam nyo, may good news ako sa inyo. (Mukha nya masayang-masaya.)
(While saying this, naiiyak na sya.)
(This time, hindi na sya nagsasalita. After a while umiyak na sya ng todo. Lahat kami natatawa sa kanya. Imagine, all of us at the dinner table were laughing, while si Halie, iyak na ng iyak at hindi na makakain.)

Kasi naman ang nanay, maldita. Patulan ba ang anak? But it's also flattering. I can write and say anything i like.)

Work related

I've been engaged in a repetitive motion of the hand/fingers. Carpal tunnel syndrome? Perhaps, because I am experiencing numbness and muscle weakness. 'Dumadami ang mga alam kong gawin. Nakakapagod din, pero as Karen said, lumalawak ang network.'

David D'Or at the Araneta Coliseum

See pictures of David D'Or here

I have never heard of this singer before. Im sure, most of us Filipinos do not know this guy. But, in Israel, he is one great singer(so they say). A friend and former classmate of mine who works at the Israel Embassy happened to give me patronage tickets for the concert. My family and I were seated at the lower box. At the start, I thought the concert would be boring. Maybe because I am not a very religious person. Also, I am not patriotic(?). I love being a Filipino and proud to be one but that's it. Most of the songs during the early stage of the concert were religious songs and some Filipino patriotic(?) or nationalistic(?) songs rendered by some of our very own local artists. But the kids enjoyed waving their mini flags every after rendition.

After a while, David D'Or appeared on stage and began singing in high pitch. The crowd applauded in awe. Some of the songs he rendered were "Phantom of the Opera," "Amazing Grace," "Somewhere over the Rainbow," and "Killing me Softly" among others. There were also songs in Hebrew. I do not understand what the song is all about pero ang sarap pakinggan. Another thing, he also looks like our local actor, Gabby Concepcion.

During the concert, you can see how two different countries unite and celebrate one great event. Numerous people from Israel were in the audience. There were also some from Korea. Diplomats and some local staff were there. I think the concert's aim is to understand one's culture, to celebrate our devotion or maybe belief in one and the same God and how these two different races come together to celebrate love and hope.

By the way, I found out that David D'Or has a version of the song "Careless Whisper" released in 2005. I am just wondering why he didn't sing it during the concert. Alam kaya nya??? Was he informed and warned? Just asking...
